Thoroughly enjoyed the attention to detail at Universal Studios’ Village of Hogsmeade. We started our day at Ollivanders (makers of fine wands since 382 BC) where my daughters were fitted with proper wands. Rosa was chosen out of the small crowd to participate in the interactive “show” where a wand “chose” her after a few unsuccessful fittings.
Hogsmeade reminded me of the medieval towns we wandered in when we were last in Europe (albeit quirkier and with a larger percentage of the population wearing wizarding robes. Each little shop had a unique, immersive window display. The whole area is just large enough to lose yourself in and forget you are actually in a theme park (if you can ignore the crowds, that is).
For good measure I also grabbed a shot of the winged boar statues which flank the entrance to Hogwarts from the village.
