I took a field trip this weekend with my family and some folks from work to share my love of some of California’s giants. There is something about being dwarfed in the shadow of the coastal redwoods and the smell of the forest. I found myself admiring the small details on this trip — how light dapples down from the canopy so far above, the fascinating curves of redwood bark, and the slithering of the alligator lizard my daughters spotted. It was a wonderful Sunday, spent with great people.
