The Kelpies are monumental 100 ft outdoor sculptures in Falkirk near Glasgow. I photoed them during a dramatic, cloudy, overcast day, then snapped a photo for the short time the clouds lifted and the blue sky could be seen.
Kelpies are mythological, shapeshifting water creatures which reside in the Scottish lochs (lakes).
These sculptures were built in 2013 and honor the horses that pulled the barges down the canal systems before the advent of the combustion engine.
